LumenIQ produces two types of biometric imaging
products to meet law enforcement and security agency
needs. Both product lines are based on patented, well
validated display technology that expands examiner
perception of acquired fingerprint image data,
resulting in accuracy and efficiency gains.
LumenIQ’s first biometric products set addresses
the early edit phase of automated fingerprint
identification systems (“AFIS”). Slight
improvements executed by AFIS operators to
machine-generated minutiae markers can yield more
“hits” with higher rankings at the search
phase, when final marker placements are automatically
compared to thousands of record fingerprints stored in
security agency databases. LumenIQ software arms AFIS
operators with a new editing advantage by enabling them
to correct proposed marker placements in a 3D display
environment. Motorola currently distributes LumenIQ
display products for AFIS systems.
LumenIQ’s second biometric product line is
designed for use by examiners working on detailed print
comparisons. These products provide examiners with
every analytic tool used in the analysis of 2D images,
but with those tools equally operable in a parallel,
dynamic 3D display of the same print image data. The US
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently adopted
a LumenIQ fingerprint comparison software application
for use by US-VISIT Program print examiners supporting
United States border security systems.
